we all have things that annoy us whilst fishing , here is my top ten. if you would like to add to this let me know !!!

10.   number 10 would be the wind and rain which you cannot do anything about . you go down your favourite pool and cant cast because of the awkward wind trees behind you , river too high/low etc!!

9.unforseen circumstances  falling in the river and buggering up your mobile fone , digital camera soaking your fags, realising you only have your shitty flies with you or having only 2 metres of mono with you or getting a good fish and forgetting your camera. running out of fags , broken lighters etc!!

8... getting all set for a good days fishing with salmon all around you and having it cut short by hooking yourself and having to go to the hospital !!

7.giving someone permission go in front of you and they hook a fish within a few casts 

6. thinking you are a good caster then seeing someone cast twice your distance with half the effort.

5. turning up to the river at 5 o clock in the morning and finding someone else has been there before you or arriving at your favourite spot and theres a bunch of tourists or kids throwing stones in , dogs swimming etc.

4.wind knots , breaking flies on the stones , getting caught in the trees and having to double spey cast.

3. trying to have a piss whilst wearing the chest waders!!! also putting the chest waders on and needing a piss 5 minutes later.. 

2. canoeists!!

1. losing the fish of a lifetime , at the end of the 2007 season i lost a huge fish , i had it on for an hour and never seen it once and eventually lost it around a boulder). this is definately the worst thing ever as i  know  it was huge but how huge , i will never know. it still hurts even talking about it.

additions from other anglers

1..being surrounded by non taking fish and trying every fly in the box , but to no avail..

2..seeing rising fish and not being able to reach them no matter how hard you try..

3..not having the right tackle

4..getting a pull but not hooking and realising ur fly was tangled on the line

5..seeing a running fish jump , trying to cover it in your next cast and whipping your fly off in the process

6..having 10 casts in one of your favourite spots and realising ur fly came off some time ago

7.. forgetting you have the rod on top of the car and reversing it into the side of your house/wall/tree etc..
